Business as Usual (Kind of)

Hi Everyone!!

We are back from more than 24 hours without WiFi! It was good for all of us to be disconnected for a while - but we did end up looking at each other late last night after devotionals saying, "What are we supposed to do now?!"

Monday we were back to business. We had a little surprise waiting for us in the 3D printer....

We have since fixed the issue :)

Training went very well for the ROCK team.

It is moving much faster than last week which is impressive. The Clubfoot team hung out in the orthopedic workshop and learned how to make braces (a similar process to the GoPro footage you've already seen).

Dan, Emma, Nathan, Dr. Kieffer, and I all got to be part of dedicating a house yesterday! Cure built a new house for their spiritual director, Christine. It is common Kenyan practice to pray over the house before the person moves in. We sang, listened to a short message out of Acts 17, and all gathered into individual rooms to pray over those specific areas. It was a really cool experience.

The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him.

For lunch we had potatoes, rice, chapati, green oranges and cabbage.

The Love Africa team arrived yesterday in the guesthouse so we no longer have it to ourselves! We joined their devotional and sang together with them last night, played cards, did some laundry, and hung out together. Dan, Emma, and I got shukas on Sunday :)

Our group devotional was from Matthew 25

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Today we are just doing business as usual. Purity is already running through the whole system by herself and just asking questions as she has them. Tonight we might run up to the Supa Dukas again for fun... No GoPro video for today - sorry!

Tomorrow we are preforming "O Sifuni Mungu" (the song on the safari GoPro video) in front of all the Cure staff at their weekly chapel. Wish us luck! I will be taking video of that. The whole department is meeting to practice at 4:00 so that should be fun.

Another update to come tomorrow!

Kwaheri!
